The moon and its symbolism
The Moon is the star of the night that has a cycle of about 29 days and goes through several phases ranging from the New Moon to the Full Moon. It certainly fascinates planet Earth since everyone relates to it one way or another.
The Chinese consider it to be a Yin element, a feminine principle that is said to be cold and passive, in opposition to its complementary Yang Sun, a masculine principle that is said to be hot and active.
In astrology, everyone knows their zodiac sign, which corresponds to the Sun, but few know Moon sign. And yet, it acts on the inner part of a person and thus reveals how they behave in a more intimate scenery; in other words, it is their emotional inner world.
In numerology also, we have numbers referring to the Sun and the Moon, and just like astrology, some numbers tend to highlight the “outer” personality while others focus on the “inner” personality.
The New Moon its influence on Our Daily Life
Our Sleeping patterns:
Swedish scientists have reported an increase in REM sleep of 30 minutes during the new Moon. However, sleeping patterns seem to be more affected during the Full Moon, as explained in a future blog post dedicated to the Full Moon.
Tides during the moon phases:
The tide is simply the variable level of the sea; the sea rises and falls and during the New Moons and Full Moons, their level is extreme, and we speak of high tides. When you know that the Sun is half as important on the tides as the Moon because of its remoteness from our Earth, you will understand why in Brittany, where I come from, it is not uncommon to consult the tide calendar to know when to go fishing or when to go for a swim.
A fun story: last year, I was walking on a beach in Plouguerneau, Brittany, on a day of low tide (the sea is far away and
takes several hours to rise back), so I did not go there to swim but only to get some fresh air, and a tourist exclaimed: “The sea is gone! there is no sea anymore! ». If I had had my tide calendar on me at the time, I would have given it to her of course!
However, the tides are not only found in Brittany, even if the Atlantic, to my knowledge, experiences the greatest variation in the rise and descent of waters.
Our mood:
I did some research, but I found no scientific studies showing that any change in mood could be due to Lady Moon. However, I personally noticed a greater sensitivity and a more pronounced impatience during the New Moons and Full Moons.
In fact, a greater impatience in the sense of greater frustration because each New Moon holds a boost of energy. Therefore, unconsciously speaking, I would like each time to progress much quicker.
Incidentally, as a woman, let us not forget that our cycle can also be disrupted and therefore influenced by the Moon.

What is a New Moon?
From the New Moon to the Full Moon, we are in the growing Moon, representing newness, renewal, new foundations, seeds to be planted.
It is usually a positive phase where all dreams are allowed.
In fact, it’s a bit like having a fresh start on a project that you really desire. There are no limits, you can allow yourselves
anything you want.
When a project is at its inception, it can be exhilarating, but it can also be scary. In order to get out of your comfort zone, you usually have to either want to rectify a situation that no longer suits you or you decide to change because you feel the need to take a new start.
Whether it is “imposed” by circumstances or by choice, the fact remains that a decision-making process will have to be put in place.
You don’t start a project without a minimum of structure. Therefore, you often ask yourselves a few questions:
- Where to start?
- How do I set my goals?
- Do I give myself a specific deadline to achieve my goal?
- How many goals do I focus on at once?
- Am I the only person with free will in this decision-making process?

What are new moon rituals for?
New moon rituals are tools that give a reassuring structure and can gradually convince your subconscious mind that you will be able to reach your desires.
These tools are not essential to achieving your goals, however, they are very useful most of the time, especially if you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation whereby your thoughts (predominantly negative ones) block or delay their manifestation.
Who are new moon rituals for?
The new moon rituals are aimed at all people who:
- Want to take inspired actions
- Wish to feel good or better
- Prefer to consciously rectify a situation they dislike
- Choose to focus back on themselves
- Wish to belong to a group of like-minded people
- Want to have a “me time” moment
- Take the opportunity to relieve stress
- Just enjoy writing down their desires
- Intend to refer to their written lists of accomplishment and tick off their progress
- Enjoy a relaxing yet motivating routine
5 easy Rituals to improve your life
The moon has an impact on your manifestations. Indeed, the moon keeps rising 7 days after the New Moon. It is, therefore, a perfect time to enjoy its new energy by taking inspired action.
New moon synonymous: expansion, novelty, beginnings, creation, constructions, foundations, intentions. In addition: corrections, adjustments, renewal.
It is time to take advantage of this renewed energy to reflect on the previous cycle and prepare efficiently for the next one.
#1 – The New Moon List with Objectives
It’s about listing everything you want to accomplish in your life.
Tools:
A notepad
A pen
Process:
On a sheet of paper, you will make 2 columns.
In the left column, you will list everything you want, writing in present or past tense. Each objective must be clear and concise.
For example: “I got promoted as a Human Resources Manager with a salary of 50K salary, just the way I wanted”
“All my paperwork for my new business is done and my business has officially launched.”
“I got the position of Commercial Executive for Company X for which I applied back in May”
My Extra Tips:
In the right column, you will write how achieving your goal makes you feel. I know these are just desires at this moment in time, but it is important that you get aligned both in feelings and thoughts.
For example, “I felt happy and free”; “I felt proud of myself”; “I felt valued”.
If you wish, you can draw a small emoji with a smile. Personally, I have stickers with hearts, likes, smiles. You’d think I was 10 years old! But am I hurting anyone with my stickers? Nope, so I keep going!
Now, go mentally through your list and ask yourself if all your desires seem achievable. Ideally, that should be the case. Otherwise, ask yourself if it is not possible because it has never been done before in the whole history of mankind, or if it is just impossible for you. Or better said, if you perceive it to be the case.
If it seems impossible to you only, let’s have a look. Let’s say that you wrote: “I got the position of Executive Assistant for which I had applied at the beginning of May. I felt proud although slightly surprised when I heard the great news.”
1: the role had to be vacant for you to apply.
2: someone is going to get it.
3: not everybody else is better than you.
4: there is nothing wrong with your objectives, however, your self-image needs some nurturing. Now is a good time for it!

#2 – The New Moon Creative Visualization Board
Everyone knows the concept of a visualization board; for some people, it works very well. It does for me also. I see its benefits because it requires a minimum of time to choose the images or photos; during that time your mind is getting familiar with your wishes and offers no resistance.
Tools:
Magazines
Images printed from the Internet
Large sheet of paper or large cardboard sheet
Pair of scissors
Glue
Process:
We’ll pretend that today, we want to improve a work situation. Choose photos or images from magazines or the Internet that you enjoy looking at. Ideally, they represent the professional environment you ideally want to experience.
If your work is your only source of income, you can also write the annual salary you ideally want.
My Extra tips:
I always look for images that are aligned with my ideal work situation in terms of thoughts and feelings. In other words, images that make me feel good and that match my desired thoughts.
I avoid putting pictures with faces because it makes it difficult for me to identify with those; what I do instead is that I have pictures of the location I want to live at, pictures of the best restaurants of that location, trips I will take with my great income. The trick is to make it real with details, so I have pictures of my favorite suitcases and computer bags (I love bags and suitcases, go figure!).
As a web entrepreneur and I am no longer employed in a company, so now I have a picture of my business logo along with a certain amount of income I want to generate, as well as the ideal number of clients I want to help.
Note that I never put a date or a deadline on my desires because I would feel under pressure and would quickly feel overwhelmed. Any stress delays any manifestation. This is within the Universal Laws.
#3 – The New Moon Bank Account Manifestation Technique
Are you familiar with the Check of Abundance technique? I used to do it, but I couldn’t identify with it, and it never worked for me. I have another technique that works better for me. It is the Bank Account Technique.
Tools:
Screenshot of your bank account
A pen
A printer
Process:
It’s about taking a screenshot of your bank account and adding 0s to it. You must be comfortable with the number of 0s, otherwise, it doesn’t work.
My Extra tips:
While adding the 0s, I imagine how I’m going to feel when I see the new amount on my account and what I will be able to do with that money.
#4 – The Pink Bubble Manifestation Technique
It’s a technique that I got inspired by as I was trying to manifest my soulmate back in 2000. I applied some Feng Shui techniques back then, which I religiously studied for about 15 years. I am an absolute fan of the excellent teachings of Lillian Too.
Tools:
Be relaxed or in a meditative state
Have a brief description of the scene you want to manifest (written down on paper)
Process:
It’s about getting ready for a visualization exercise. To do this, sit comfortably in an armchair or lie on your bed if you want to (it is better to have this visualization completed before falling asleep though). Read the description you wrote beforehand of your wish to be fulfilled.
Now focus on your breathing, close your eyes and imagine the scene you wrote. Make it as real as possible, using as many senses as possible.
When you feel in tune with your visualization, imagine the scene inside a pink bubble and watch it fly away, feeling safe and content. The ideal is to have peace of mind about the bubble flying away. This signals to your brain that you are perfectly ok to let go of the outcome. As a result, you feel confident your bubble is in a safe place.
My extra tips:
I mentally put my bubble under protection by imagining that nothing can harm it; no one but me can touch it. So, if I happen to be trapped in doubts (this sometimes happens; it did especially when I was manifesting an ex back), I think “no, my bubble is protected, my love is protected, everything is fine”.
#5 – My “New Moon List” Ritual
It’s a 2-step technique that I implemented after being ghosted.
Tools:
Be in a state of relaxation or be in a neutral state of emotions
Paper or diary or journal
Process:
It’s about removing doubts and allow the renewed energy to settle in. So, for now, discard all negative thoughts and step back: mentally assess your progress (or not) since being ghosted.
Write the situation that signals progress and dwell on how this makes you feel.
For example, “I felt really happy when I received a communication from X”
If no progress has been made, move on to step 2 by listing what you want going forward.
For instance: “I feel I am now a priority in this relationship and X constantly tells me he loves me; I love the lovely conversations we have all the time!”
My extra tips:
I always think ahead by thinking back. Let me explain: when I try to imagine what I would like to experience in the future, it can take a long time to manifest in my reality. So, when I visualize, I pretend I am looking at a memory; something that happened in the past. In other words, since it is supposed to be a memory, I do not get all stressed out by questioning myself if my wish can come true because in essence, it has already manifested and I am just remembering it!
This is inspired by a technique of Neville Goddard. I adore his teachings and wouldn’t be able to live without them in my life.
In fact, I will go as far as to say that it is more than applying someone’s teaching, it is a radical shift in my life. I can now say that I live my life on purpose and not by default anymore.
